A RailCorp cleaner dragged by a train on Sydney's upper north shore has escaped with minor injuries.
The man was dragged for six metres by the slow moving train after his clothes got caught in one of its doors at Hornsby Maintenance Centre about 11.30pm (AEDT) on Monday, WorkCover said in a statement on Tuesday.
The driver stopped the train and assisted the cleaner, who was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Transport safety regulators have attended the site to investigate, a RailCorp spokesman said.
RailCorp had also begun its own investigation and would co-operate fully with WorkCover.
"Safety in the workplace is a top priority for RailCorp and it takes incidents of this nature seriously," the spokesman said.
"We will work closely with the regulators to establish the cause of this incident."
It comes a week after the release of a report into the death of a RailCorp cleaner who was hit by a train in south Sydney last year.
Tamati Grant, 59, was struck by a train on April 13, 2010, at Kogarah railway station.
The NSW Office of Transport Safety report into the incident found RailCorp staff needed better training.
